We had a very intersting night Friday. Chad set up a tent in the back yard for some fun and easy camping. Every thing was fun, the kids were having a ball, acting totally normal and fine. They go to sleep and out of the blue around 12:30am, Lia Belle just wakes up and vomits all over herself. SURPRISE! So Chad brings her in and we give her a bath and start some laundry. We put her in her bed. In about fifteen minutes she does it again. More cleaning. By this time, Jacob is inside in his bed asleep. We get Lia Belle cleaned up the second time and back in bed. This time she conks out and fortunately, sleeps the rest of the night. Lucky her. Chad and I head back to sleep and are just settling down, trying to fight the churning in our stomachs, when we hear Jacob cry out! We run into his room to find vomit all over his bed! More cleaning! Wash his bedspread, clean pajamas, clean sheets. Mean time, we put him on the floor in our room with his head in the bathroom. He vomits again, while we are trying to clean everything up. By this time it is about 2:00 am. Then Phoebe wakes up. She has diarrhea. She has had this for a day, so I wasn't too surprised. But, this time her diaper rash from it is worse and she crying her eyes out while I try to clean her. As I am cleaning her I can't hold in my stomach anylonger and I lean over into the bathtub to let it all out. Which makes Phoebe scared. At the same time I hear Jacob crying and Chad is taking care of him as he continues to puke. SO MUCH FUN! PHoebe is crawling all over me, pulling my hair as I am trying to not puke on her. Finally, I am done, I get phoebe cleaned up and dressed, of course, she's not going back to sleep and miss out on all the fun. (Gratefully, Lia Belle was snoozing. I don't know how I could have handled her too). So, Phoebe comes into bed with us. Poor Jacob is on the floor where he keeps vomiting about every half hour. Fortunately, I have no more vomiting, but between Chad and I we drank a whole bottle of Pepto Bismal. I tried to give some to Jacob, but he just threw it back up.
I finally got Phoebe back in her bed around 4:30 am. Saturday we are all wasted! Poor Jacob, he was the worst, he sat on the couch all day long on Saturday, not a smile to be had on his usually smiley face. Lia Belle was fine on Saturday. No one ate anything Saturday. Today everyone is pretty much better.
The worst part, I think it was the dinner I made on Friday. A favorite recipe, Tortilla Soup. I don't know what else it could have been. Sadly, I can NEVER make that again... it was so good too... .
Well, That wasn't the most lovely post. But I wanted to record it for myself at least. Chad and I have laughed about how that was the craziest night we've ever had! I love Chad, even in the middle of it, he helped me see the humor in it, even as I was crying because I felt so bad that I gave my entire family food poisoning!

Makes you glad that you didn't actually go camping, doesn't it! Yikes!
Geez. I don't know if I can be your kids nanny if that sort of thing happens and you feed me poisoned soup, I love tortilla soup too. Sorry Annie. What a night.
That was the most entertaining blog I've read in a long while! I love the title. That's why I've always refused to eat there, just the name makes me think Up Chuck! I don't think it was the soup.. Unless you put Chicken in it that was undercooked.. Its just beans! How can that give you food poisoning? I just made that friday night, and no one here got sick! Hope you are feeling better.. At least a family that pukes together, stays together!
I can think of better family activities. Maybe you could try something else! Glad you recorded it. It really is a funny memory!
But, if we had actually gone camping we would have eaten something "harmless" like hotdogs and smores.
Oh sad...if it was food poisoning, that is the worst. I had food poisoning once from Chinese food when I was all alone in a hotel room in Seattle...which didn't have its own bathroom, just a communal one down the hall...I thought I was going to die. I literally thought I might die. I remember thinking that I should take off the "Do Not Disturb" sign from the doorknob, so that when/if I died in the hotel bed, the maids would discover me sooner rather than later.
By the way, the part about Phoebe being scared to see you vomit was so sad. :( I'm glad everyone feels better now.
that was grossly entertaining!
I just threw up after reading your blog.
