P: Mom, Why do you always kiss me goodnight? (with a whine in her voice.)
Me: Because you are my baby and I love you.
P: WWWAAAAHHHH! I AM NOT A BABY!!
Me: O.k... you're right you are a big kid and I love you, and I can kiss my kids goodnight because I am your mommy.
P: MOM! I WAS 2 and then I had a birthday! So, I AM NOT A BABY!!
Well, she showed me who is not a baby. Good thing I have another one coming.

A few months ago I went to give Kate a kiss good night and she said "MOM! I'm getting a little too old for kisses, you know." About broke my heart. Good thing I have a younger one still :)
