Yesterday was the 5k fun run at the kids school. They were both so excited for it, especially Lia Belle. She had set two goals, to beat her brother and to win a medal. And bless her little heart, she accomplished both! She beat Jacob by a few minutes and she took second place in the k-3rd grade girls. She's in 1st grade! I was so proud of my little belle! I was proud of Jacob. Most of the younger kids only did half of the race,but Jacob and Lia Belle did the entire thing. Lia Belle's Cousin, Morgan, who is in 8th grade won first place in the girls ages 4th - 8th grades. It was so fun to see Two Selanders up there getting their medals.The best part was seeing how proud Lia Belle was of herself.
Lia Belle has also started playing soccer and she has found that she really likes it. I am so glad, since we pretty much had to coerce and bribe her into giving it a try. She is really getting in there and making a few goals every game. It is so cute to see her in her purple uniform having so much fun! My little girlie-girl has a competitive streak! Who knew!?

How awesome! Nicole is playing soccer too and we had to do the same thing -- bribe her to even try it. Now she loves it! Those girls are like 2 peas in a pod.
